PALMYRA — George (Geo) VanNieuwenhze, age 97, of Palmyra passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 9, 2011, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee, surrounded by his family at the home on the farm where he grew up and raised his two girls and where he worked and cared for the land that he loved so much along the Raisin River for 86 years.

Franklin L. Bieber, 88, a lifelong resident of Ottawa Lake, 
passed in his sleep, Saturday June 11, 2011, at his residence.

Franklin L. Bieber, 88, a lifelong resident of Ottawa Lake, 
passed in his sleep, Saturday June 11, 2011, at his residence.
      Franklin was a lifelong farmer. In addition he was employed for 
more than 25 years at Tecumseh Products, before retiring.
      He is survived by daughters Marsha Lehman, Diane Bieber, and 
Jean (Ed) Palacios; sons William (Judy) and Russell (Sheri) Bieber; 
12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

On Thursday, July 29, 2010, Willis Charles Thompson, age 85, went to be with the Lord at his home surrounded by his family. 

Willis was born on May 27, 1925, in Ogden Township, to Charles and Tillie (Wapshall) Thompson.  He married Ruth King on June 15, 1946, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  Willis was a lifetime cattleman and farmer and a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church.

 Edwin James Faust, 71, of Britton passed away on Friday, April 2, 2010 at his home. He was born on November 22, 1938 in Britton, Michigan, the son of Otto and Charlotte (Williams) Faust. On March 30, 1963, Ed married Gloria Hummel. She survives.
