Kilee Goetz is a very busy person. She just recently left Blissfield for Elon, North Carolina, after a visit with her family and friends, and is getting settled into her new apartment, new town, and, most of all, new job. 

 Kilee Goetz is a very busy person. She just recently left Blissfield for Elon, North Carolina, after a visit with her family and friends, and is getting settled into her new apartment, new town, and, most of all, new job. The 1999 Blissfield High School grad, on June 23, accepted an assistant volleyball coach position at Elon University, a college known for its top-shelf volleyball team.

The battered and bruised Whiteford football team missed a chance to qualify for the playoffs when they lost 52-28 at Morenci Friday, but the team still has slim hopes that it will make the playoffs.

"We'll be watching Sunday with our fingers crossed," said head coach Matt Garno, referring to the MHSAA playoff selection show airing on FSN Detroit at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The ever-improving Blissfieldgirls soccer team picked up its second win of the week last night, defeating Onsted 2-0.

Kenzy Speiser converted a pass from Emily Loar early in the first half for Blissfield’s first goal. Speiser then returned the favor, setting up Loar for a goal at the 33 minute mark of the second half to take a 2-0 lead. Cierra Sell made four saves in the shutout.
 
Coach Noel Moreno said his defense played a nearly perfect game, taking a lot of pressure of their junior goalkeeper, who earned her first shutout of the season.
