Recall petition wording approved

The Lenawee County Election Commission unamimously approved the wording for a potential recall petition sought against Riga Township Treasurer Richard Beagle at a clarity hearing Wednesday. 

The Lenawee County Election Commission unamimously approved the wording for a potential recall petition sought against Riga Township Treasurer Richard Beagle at a clarity hearing Wednesday. This was the second time in as many months that Beagle was the object of possible recall petition.  Petitioner William Frantz of Riga will have 180 days to secure enough signatures to get the recall on a ballot.

Riga recall bid retooled, revived

RIGA – Near the end of the Monday evening Riga Township meeting, township supervisor Jefferee Simon made an announcement to all in attendance.

     “I got a call from the clerk Friday and a letter in the mail Saturday and I’m being recalled again,” Simon said.

Ardis Witt

DEERFIELD --  Ardis A. Witt, 93 of Deerfield passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, MI.  She was born on May 9, 1917 in Adrian, Michigan, the daughter of Raymond and Nellie (Muck) Fitch.  On May 25, 1935 Ardis was united in marriage to William L. Witt in LaGrange, Indiana.  He preceded her in death in 1942.
