Cruise-in Thursday, May 10

The first Blissfield Cruise-In of the season, sponsored by Green Plains Renewable Energy, is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, in downtown Blissfield.

The first Blissfield Cruise-In of the season, sponsored by Green Plains Renewable Energy, is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, in downtown Blissfield.

South Lane Street will feature classic cars and motorcycles, people and music.
There will also be door prizes for participants, and live entertainment. The Crossover Band of Toledo, Ohio, will perform during the event. The event is hosted by the Blissfield DDA/Main Street Program.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Albert Nelson of Summerfield Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

After announcements that Exelon and Great Lakes Wind were moving their project north to Huron County, now juwi Wind has determined they will no longer seek Lenawee County as a place to build wind turbines as part of a larger wind project.

Sutherland, age 64, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania.  He was born February 27, 1947 in Newport, Arkansas to Leroy “RC” Sutherland and Wanda Kennedy.  Larry served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran.  On November 24, 1978, he married his beloved wife, Donna Hlavacek.

FAA report questions 63 proposed wind turbine sites

A recent Federal Aviation Administration ruling could prove a serious obstacle to wind energy development in the Blissfield area. A study by the FAA found that 63 wind turbine sites proposed by developer Juwi Wind are “presumed hazards” due to their proximity to Toledo Express Airport.

Don D. Ebright, 78 of Blissfield passed away suddenly on Monday, August 15, 2011, at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio.  He was the third son born to Ernest and Myrtle Belle (Robertson) Ebright on November 20, 1932.

Blissfield—Don D. Ebright, 78 of Blissfield passed away suddenly on Monday, August 15, 2011 at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio.  He was the third son born to Ernest and Myrtle Belle (Robertson) Ebright on November 20, 1932.

Blissfield—Don D. Ebright, 78 of Blissfield passed away suddenly on Monday, August 15, 2011 at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio.  He was the third son born to Ernest and Myrtle Belle (Robertson) Ebright on November 20, 1932.

Don graduated from Blissfield High School and during his senior year served as the Co-Captain of the Sugarboys football team.  He went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War conflict.  In October of 1956, Don was united in marriage to Grace Borton in Toledo, Ohio.  She survives.
