     Theodore Walter Nowak, Sr., 75, of Durand, and who previously lived in Blissfield, and Temperance, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in his home. 

    Theodore Walter Nowak, Sr., 75, of Durand, and who previously lived in Blissfield, and Temperance, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in his home. He worked as a security guard for St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor,  for 15 years. Previously he worked for Willys Overland.

Blissfield Legion 325 tops in Zone 2

The Blissfield American Legion Post 325 baseball team claimed the Michigan Zone 2 championship Saturday morning and is heading to Thursday’s state championship at Midland. 

The Blissfield American Legion Post 325 baseball team claimed the Michigan Zone 2 championship Saturday morning and is heading to Thursday’s state championship at Midland. The Royals claimed big wins over St. Joseph Post 163 and Adrian Post 275.

Lauralee Mlcek

Lauralee “Laurie” Ann Mlcek, age 73, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the Charlotte Stephenson Manor of Adrian, Michigan. She went peacefully while under the care of Hospice of Lenawee County ending her long struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

Lillian Leona Schaffer

Lillian Leona Schaffer passed away peacefully on May 20, 2010 at the age of 75.

She was loved by her family and many friends.

Lillian Leona Schaffer was born to parents Victor and Amanda Charn on April 24, 1935 in St. Joseph, Michigan. She grew up in Sawyer, Michigan and graduated valedictorian of her 1953 New Troy High School class. She attended South Bend Business College and worked at the  Whirlpool Company and Hillsdale College.

Lillian Leona Schaffer passed away peacefully on May 20, 2010 at the age of 75.

Marian Louise Sattler

       Marian Louise Sattler, 83 of Blissfield passed away on Monday, April 05, 2010 at her home. She was born on May 18, 1926 in Tecumseh, Michigan, the daughter of Royal and Clemantine (McCallister) Haas. On February 13, 1947, Marian was united in marriage to Donald Sattler. He survives.
