The days are growing shorter and so is the time between now and Christmas. It is a time when families start bringing out the decorations that are traditions and looking forward to other holiday traditions. It is also a time when we might begin to look for decorations that will become traditions and gifts to put under the tree.
One of the best places to find everything for Christmas is an event that has developed a long history with Blissfield residents as a place to get the things to deck the halls and do some gift shopping at the same time: the annual Yuletide Craft Show, now in its 35th year.
The craft show will again be held in the Blissfield Elementary School, 640 South Lane Street, Saturday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shoppers are invited to come hungry. Besides the gifts and decorations, there is always mouthwatering baked treats and luncheon items to enhance the experience.
Of course, all of Blissfield will be in the holiday spirit this weekend, as the village throws its holiday gala with an art exhibit at Flatlanders beginning at 10 a.m., a Blissfield Model Railroad Open House until 4 p.m., A&B Railroad Train Rides until 2 p.m., and games and activities at Schultz-Holmes Library until 4 p.m.
