Dissatisfied residents in another area township are seeking to recall board members over the wind turbines being proposed in some rural townships.
Wording for a recall petition for two Riga Township officials submitted to the Lenawee County Clerk last month was denied at a clarity hearing March 3 in Lenawee County Probate Court.
Wording for petitions to recall Riga Township Supervisor Jefferee Simon and Riga Township Clerk Karlene Goetz was filed by Riga Township resident William Frantz on Feb. 14. In the statements of reason, one filed against each of the two board members, Frantz alleged they had violeted the public trust by not working on behalf of all residents and had failed to protect the rights of all residents in regards to the proposed industrial wind developments within the township.
