Palmyra Twp. to seek cemetery levy

By MELISSA BURNOR

PALMYRA — Palmyra Township will ask its residents to consider a .2 mill levy for cemetery operations and improvements during the August primary election. The action was approved at its April 10 board meeting. Palmyra Township Supervisor Jim Isley said the levy would cover expenses at all four township cemeteries. The levy would generate approximately $16,000 a year. Isley said the township has had to consider the millage levy after losing the tipping fee from the landfill that closed last year.
