Ronald John Fischer, Sr., age 82, of Blissfield, passed away, April 28, 2016.
He was born August 31, 1933, in Adrian, MI, the son of John & Minnie (Barnhart) Fischer.
On October 29, 1955, he married Joyce Mann at the Blissfield First United Methodist Church. She survives.
Ronald attended the Adrian First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ronald was an avid Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Tigers fan.
In addition to his wife Joyce, he is survived by his children; Jennifer Fischer Mitchell, Ronald John Jr. (Gennie) Fischer, Timothy Scott Fischer and Marc (Shannon) Fischer, seven grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Shane, Jill, Jessica, Kyle and Nathan, eight great-grandchildren, Zaccary, Alayna, Benjamin, Emma Claire, Addyson, Sarah and Lydia, his brother, David (Mary) Fischer, his sister in law, Stacy Fischer and several nieces and nephews.

Michael G. Knisel, 70, of Hernando Beach, Fla., formerly of Ogden Township, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at his home.
Mike grew up and spent the first 58 years of his life in Ogden Township, first as a farmer and then as the owner of The Un-Cable, a satellite dish company. He was devoted to Sharon, his wife of 36 years. They spent the last 12 years enjoying retirement Florida. In his later years, Mike became a dedicated woodworker. He loved playing softball, playing competitively until turning 50. He loved spending time with his kids and playing with his grandkids.

ADRIAN — Larry K. Sayler, age 64 of Adrian, Michigan passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born May 27, 1951 to Clyde W. and Louise M. (Gentz) Sayler. On June 5, 1971 he married Judi A. Hunt in Blissfield, Michigan. Larry served in the Army/National Guard from 1970-1976. He retired in 2002 from GM Powertrain of Toledo, OH. He was a member of the A.M.A. Academy of Model Aeronautics, a member of the Classic Car Association and the Antique Tractor Association. MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Pearl C. Goll, age 89, formerly of Blissfield, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at Estella’s House under the care of Hospice of Marion Co. She was born June 26, 1926 in Sylvania, Ohio, the daughter of George C. and Selma J. (Fink) Goll.
Pearl was a housekeeper for over 30 years, living in the Blissfield area until 2001, when she moved to Florida.
She is survived her brother Lloyd (Sharon) Goll of Summerfield, FL; a sister, Ivadell McCarty of Belleview, FL; and a special cousin, Eleanora Lindsey of Swanton, OH.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Matilda Minster, a brother in law, Richard McCarty and her niece, Karilyn Niemen.

Patricia “Patti” E. (Hickok) Emmons, age 77 of Deerfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at her home. She was born on April 2, 1939 in Sparta, Michigan to James F. and Frances Mary (Edgerton) Hickok. Patti co-owned and operated the Deerfield Tavern for many years. She was instrumental in using the tavern to commercialize the well-known event in Deerfield known as the “Testicle Festival” which is still going strong today. She enjoyed racing snowmobiles and motorcycles in earlier years. Patti enjoyed traveling, visiting butterfly gardens and her family. Those who knew Patti would often see her sipping her favorite beverage of Pabst Blue Ribbon in social situations.

DEERFIELD – Robert “Bob” Lee Diver, age 78 of Deerfield, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2016, at ProMedica Bixby Hospital, Adrian.
He was born on July 21, 1937, in Deerfield, the son of Wilson and Audrey (Stark) Diver.
On April 28, 1959, Bob married the former Charlotte Mae Kuhlman at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Deerfield. She preceded him in death on April 29, 2015.
Bob was employed by General Motors at Hydromatic in Toledo, Ohio, as a fork lift operator for 35 years before retiring. He then obtained his builder’s license in 1979 and began working alongside his son for Dan Diver Builder’s, eventually becoming a partner. Bob was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Harvey “Parker” Tagsold, Jr., age 80, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016.
He was born May 24, 1935, the only son of Harvey “Parker” and Doris (Hawkins) Tagsold Sr., and was a 1953 graduate of Blissfield High School where he was co-captain of the “Sugar Boys” basketball team. After two years at Albion College he transferred to Wayne State University School of Mortuary Science and graduated with the Class of 1956.
On February 24,1978, Parker married Patricia Nighswander at the First United Methodist Church in Blissfield.
Parker was a partner in the family business, Tagsold Furniture and Funeral Home with his father, and later with his son, Douglas, until his retirement in 1984. He then became an independent contractor, transporting hazardous waste and later delivering motor homes.

Gary Alan Houghtby, 82, of Raleigh, N.C., passed away Friday March 11, 2016, in Raleigh. He was born January 17, 1934, in Adrian, Mich., raised in Blissfield, Mich., fourth child of Earl and Edith Drinkwater Houghtby.
Gary graduated from Blissfield High School in 1951 and from Michigan State University in 1956 with a BS in Microbiology. He then received his Master’s degree from Michigan State University in 1959. Furthering his education he went on to receive his PhD in Food Science\Microbiology in 1964 from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Gary served in the US Army, doing research at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, for 2 years.

Aden Walter Porter, Sr., age 89 of Blissfield passed away
Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Hospice of Lenawee Home, Adrian.
He was born at home in Ogden Township, Michigan on October 28, 1926 to Clare A. and J. Pearl (Loar) Porter. Aden was a graduate of Blissfield High School
and went on to serve his country during WWII with the Army Air Corps.
On April 25, 1981, Aden married Sandra Edwards Packard. She survives.
Aden worked for the Tecumseh Products and for Peerless Gear until he retired.
He also farmed and raced horses up until recently. Aden attended Zion
United Brethren Church all of his life. He enjoyed bowling on Wednesday
night’s I.O.O.F. league and the Monday night church league.

Pamela “Pam” S. Andrews, 70, of Temperance, died Monday, March 14, 2016, in her home.
Born October 21, 1945, in Adrian, she was the daughter of Stuart and Frances (Kohler) Paulson. A 1963 graduate of Blissfield High School, she married Robert C. Andrews on November 21, 1964, in St. Peters Catholic Church in Blissfield. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2003.
Pam was a clerk for the treasurers department for Bedford Township for 27 years, retiring in 2015. Pam was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their various activities, as well as traveling with her sister-in-laws. Mary Ellen was born on January 16, 1927 to Carlton J. and Leona (Connolly) Schmidt.
She married Merlin S. Wapshall on November 27, 1948.
She is survived by her loving husband Merlin and dear son Dr. Terrance M. Wapshall. She was preceded in death by her parents, precious daughter Beth Ann Wapshall, brother Henry C. Schmidt, and sister LaJeanne Creque.
Mary Ellen was a secretary at Willys Overland for five years and Field Enterprises-World Book Encyclopedia for 14 years. She was past president and long time member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Elizabeth Church in Richfield Center, Ohio.
According to Mary Ellen’s wishes there will be no visitation and burial will be private.
Joyce J. Weber, age 86, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2016, under the care of her family and Hospice of Lenawee.
Joyce was born January 12, 1930, in Madison Township to Roger and Rachel (Withrow) Osborne. She married Harvey Dunavant in 1953, Norman Schoonover, Michigan State Trooper, Blissfield Post, in 1963, and Louis Weber in 1979 in Traverse City.
She was employed by Pacific Bell for 35 years, then 20 years by Hallmark. She helped her family run a resort on Spider Lake for many years. She enjoyed bowling, bird-watching. golf and Euchre, as well as her beloved Yorkies. She attended LifePoint Church on the lake.
