David J. Klump, age 83, of Ottawa Lake, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Flower Hospital, Sylvania. He was born in Ottawa Lake Michigan to parents Maud S. (Hasen) and John E. Klump January 8, 1932. He married Margaret E. Vossberg and together they raised seven children. David was a life long farmer, past member of Christian Business Men of Toledo, Whiteford School Board Member for 14 years, Whiteford Township Board Trustee, 14 years, Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Commission, and Farm Bureau. He was a member of Blissfield Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school.

Evelyn Ruth (Goll) Mehan, age 94, from Blissfield, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility, Adrian.
She was born January 12, 1921, to Henry and Jenny (Pentelow) Goll in Palmyra.
She was married to Nelson C. Mehan on March 18, 1940 in Napoleon, OH. Her husband preceded her in death on August 3, 1997, and her son, Richard N., on September 29, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers, Gerald, Clare, Elwood and Maurice Goll and several other family members.
Evelyn loved her family and friends, enjoyed worldwide traveling with her husband and family, loved doing crafts, enjoyed crocheting and took produce to Adrian’s Farmers’ Market.

ADRIAN — Virgil Ralph Klump, age 67 of Adrian died Friday, May 1, 2015, at his home.
He was born February 13, 1948, in Toledo to Ralph Clayton and Ruby Luella (Studer) Klump. On August 7, 1976, in Adrian he married Bernie Young and she survives.
Virgil was a member of Bethany Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed gardening and owned and operated Klump’s Lawn Service. He enjoyed going to Family Kitchen and having coffee with his buddies. Virgil’s greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his grandsons.
In addition to his wife, Bernie, he is survived by two daughters, Amy (David) Roberts of Adrian and Kelly (Kevin) Bush of Tecumseh; a sister Barbara (Dennis) Kolaski of Yorkville, Ill.; brother, Norris (Robin) Klump of Blissfield; three grandsons, Noah Roberts, Keegan Bush and Caleb Roberts. DEERFIELD — Charlotte “Mimi” Mae Diver, age 76 of Deerfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at her home under the care of Hospice of Lenawee and her loving family.
She was born on May 5, 1938, in Dundee to Charles and Ortha (Smith) Kuhlman. On April 29, 1956, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Deerfield, Charlotte married Robert Diver. They celebrated 59 years of marriage this year.
Charlotte attended Ma-Chere’ Beauty Academy in Toledo, Ohio. She owned and operated Char Mae’s Beauty Shoppe in Deerfield for many years. Charlotte loved to play bingo, slots, work crossword puzzles and to cook for her family. She had a very extensive “Clown” collection. She absolutely cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.

William “Bill” Robert Dittman, age 86, of Britton died Thursday, May 7, 2015, at St. Anne’s Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
He was born April 8, 1929 in Toledo to George Herman and Hazel Marie (Chilcote) Dittman.
He married the former Barbara Ann Kemberling on June 11, 1949, in Toledo, and she survives.
Bill began working for Driggs Dairy in Palmyra at age 14. He continued his employment there until age 18, when he attended trade school and began his apprenticeship as a brick mason. He then joined the family business, George Dittman & Sons Masonry.

Theodore D “Ted” Judson, age 68 of Blissfield, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015.
He was born November 12, 1946, in Adrian to Donald and Lucille (Ganun) Judson. Ted graduated from Blissfield High School with the Class of 1965, and attended Stautzenberger College as well as Jackson Community College.
On February 14, 1976, Ted was married to Janet Crammond in Toledo, Ohio, and she survives.
Ted worked for Champion Spark Plug Company for 35 years, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Wellsville United Methodist Church. An outdoorsman whose passion was bow hunting, Ted hunted not only throughout the United States, but all over the world. He was a member of the Blissfield Sportsmen’s Club in addition to state and national bow hunting clubs.

Richard John Schaedler, 94, of Palmyra, Michigan, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015. He was born May 22, 1920 in Riga, Michigan to John and Neva (Lewis) Schaedler. He married Lenore Lathrop May 31, 1942, in Berkey, Ohio. Together they had many wonderful years raising their family. He worked for many years as a farmer and a carpenter. He enjoyed raising blueberries on his farm and selling the produce at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market with his longtime friend Carol Brooks.

Patricia Ann Johns, age 80, of Marcellus, Michigan passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Borges Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born December 9, 1934, the daughter of Donald and Evelyn (Jackson) O’ Bryan in Isabella County, Michigan.
Pat was a lifetime resident of Blissfield until moving to Marcellus a few years ago. She was a graduate of Blissfield High School class of 1953. Pat was united in marriage to Floyd Johns on July 17, 1954 in Blissfield, and he preceded her in death in 1984. She was a member of the Blissfield United Methodist Church.

He was born June 11, 1947, at Monroe the son of Emil and Carol (Brockman) Schwisow. He graduated from Dundee High School in 1965. He also graduated from Davis Business College in Toledo and attended Monroe Community College.
He married Debra M. Johnson September 27, 1980, at the First Presbyterian Church in Dundee.
He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1969-1971 being stationed in Germany. He retired from the Dundee Castings Company in 2011 after 23 years of employment there. Lowell Ira Eisenmann, 90, Blissfield, transitioned to his Heavenly home on Monday, March 9, 2015. He was the son of Ira and Margaret (Luse) Eisenmann, born June 17, 1924 in Riga, Michigan. After graduating from Blissfield High in 1942, he worked on the Daniels brothers’ farm, Gerity in Adrian and the Packard Motor Plant in Toledo before being called up by the Army. Lowell, as part of the infantry, was on his way to the Philippines, when he got “stuck” in Hawaii until his discharge in November 1946. As part of the US Army of the Pacific, achieving T4 status, he was awarded a Meritorious Service Badge.

Betty Jane Porter passed away February 20th, 2015.
Born on October 6th, 1922, in Williamsburg, Virginia, Betty was the daughter of Gilbert and Florida Russell Girard. She is survived by her elder brother Gilbert Girard, Jr., and was preceded in death by her siblings Robert Girard, Eugene Paul Girard, and Mary Elizabeth Girard Rudolph.
Betty married her soulmate of 72 years, Townsend “Tom” Porter, in August 1942. She had three children, Townsend “Tom” Porter, David Porter, and her dearly departed daughter Carol Ann.
She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and cooking, and she took up the violin at age 70, and played avidly for 15 years. She traveled extensively with Tom, and settled in Sarasota, Florida for the last 12 years.

DEERFIELD — Marlene A. (Bondy) Brubaker Mehan, age 78, formerly of Deerfield, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Tecumseh Place II under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.
She was born February 1, 1937, in Deerfield, to William and Geraldine (Shettleroe) Bondy graduating from Deerfield High School with the Class of 1955.
She later worked at Fisher Body for 19 years. She was a past member of St. Alphonsus’ Catholic Church, enjoyed bowling in the past on the Ma & Pa League in Deerfield, and liked to garden, growing beautiful hibiscus.
Marlene will also be remembered for the wonderful cakes she made for friends and family.

Mrs. Fischer was born November 21, 1917, in Sebewaing, Mich to Christian and Elizabeth (Bernhardt) Schmidt, and raised in Deerfield.
Elizabeth married Louie H. Fischer, September 20, 1940 in Indiana. He died June 28, 1991.
She was a longtime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the Friendship Circle. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making quilts for family members, playing cards, bingo and her daily walks.

Charles L. “Chip” Kasten IV, age 33 of Blissfield, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, February 15, 2015.
Chip attended Manatee High School in Bradenton, Fla., and attended both Owens and Stautzenberger Community Colleges, Toledo, where he studied his passion of auto repair. He enjoyed fishing with his dad, working on cars, was an avid hunter and loved his Ohio State Buckeyes. He had currently built display and window cases for “Simply Stated & Painted,” a ceramics store in Toledo. Overall, his children were his absolute joy.
