John Gorski

ANN ARBOR — John C. Gorski, 58, of Blissfield, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011, at University of Michigan Hospital.

He was born January 4, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Francis and Dorothy (Banko) Gorski.   John graduated from St. Francis High School in Toledo.
On March 30, 1979, John married Jayne Grinage in Blissfield.  Jayne, his wife of 32 years, survives.
John worked as a mechanic, a salesman for Bill Crispin Chevrolet for many years, and most recently, for Blissfield Community Schools. 
He was an active member of the Blissfield First United Methodist Church where he served on several committees.  He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and playing golf. John was very talented at fixing things and eagerly volunteered to help others.  John enjoyed spending precious time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Jayne, and his mother, Dorothy Gorski, of Toledo, he is survived by his children: Christopher (Alyssa) Gorski, Brian Gorski; and Rebecca Gorski, all of Blissfield; a granddaughter, Kayla Gorski; brothers, Joseph of Annapolis, MD; and Lawrence (Barbara) of Navoto, CA; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Gorski of South Bend, IN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Gorski; step-father, Thaddeus “Erv” Gorski; and a brother, Robert.
The memorial service to celebrate John’s life was held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at the Blissfield First United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Donnelson officiating. The family received friends at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service at noon. Contributions in memory of John may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Blissfield First United Methodist Church.
