Lake leading all-time TCC scorer

Colin Lake became the all-time leading scorer in the Tri-County Conference Monday evening, Feb. 17, as Whiteford defeated Sand Creek 91-57.

Lake scored 42 points that evening.



#1 Blissfield Royals trounce Erie-Mason

In their first game as the number-one women’s Class C basketball team in the state, the Blissfield Royals showed why, demolishing Erie-Mason 68-17 Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Blissfield women #1 in state AP basketball rankings

The Blissfield women’s basketball team has been named number-one in the state by the Feb. 11 Associated Press  poll, according to Steve Babbitt, Blissfield athletic director.

Coach Ryan Gilbert has coached the women to a perfect 12-0 season as of today (Feb. 11).

Following are the Class C state-rankings from the AP, as provided by Babbitt.

Royals’ win is Vandecaveye’s 300th

The Blissfield Royals defeated Columbia Central 59-51 Friday night, Feb. 7. And, in doing so, they gave Coach John Vandecaveye his 300th coaching victory.

BD vs Whiteford: Women’s and men’s basketball

In a TCC showdown, the Britton Deerfield women’s basketball team traveled to Whiteford and defeated the home team Bobcats 54.43.

When it came to the men, the Bobcats turned the table and defeated the Patriots 76-44.

Royal wrestlers win team districts

Team Wrestling District postponed until Thursday

The MHSAA Team District Wrestling Tournament for today has been cancelled due to weather related travel issues, according to Steve Babbitt, Blissfield High School athletic director.  The Team District will be moved to tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 6).


BHS sports rescheduling: Jan. 29, 2014

From the Blissfield athletic director, Steve Babbitt … due to school closings Monday-Wednesday, Jan. 27-29:

The JV / varsity women’s basketball home game scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 29 vs. Hillsdale has been rescheduled (for the fourth time) to Monday, February 10.

The JV/varsity basketball games vs. Hudson which were set for Tuesday, Jan. 28 have been rescheduled for Monday February 17. The women will play at home and the men will play in Hudson.
