Doyle Bachman

Doyle Eugene Bachman, age 83, of Blissfield, died June 28,
2016 at Charlotte Stephenson Manor in Adrian. He was born August 5, 1932,
in Chesterfield Twp., Ohio, to Virgil Dale and Nina Irene (Bailey) Bachman,
Sr.  After his mother’s death, he was raised by his Aunt Orla M. Bachman.
On June 19, 1954, he married Mildred C. Reau in Deerfield and she preceded
him in death on July 11, 2006.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. Doyle had been employed as
Superintendent of Postal Operations at the Blissfield Post Office for 33
years, retiring on December 1, 1991. He was a member of the Light of
Christ, St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Blissfield, was a former member of
the Usher’s Club for many years, a former member of the Holy Name Society,
and formerly served on the parish council. He was a charter member and
former treasurer and manager of St. Peter’s Parish Credit Union and had
served as Assistant Treasurer. He was a member of the Blissfield American
Legion Post #325 and of the AARP.
Doyle is survived by two sons, Vincent E. (Rebecca) Bachman of Blissfield
and John P. (Kathleen) Bachman of West Chester, Ohio; a daughter,
Catherine M. (Brian) Lewis of Adrian; one brother, Ivan D. Bachman of
Vader, WA; one sister, Geraldine M. Davis of Butte Falls, Oregon; a
half-brother, Ronald E. (Joyce) Bachman of Pittsford, MI; two
sisters-in-law, Carol Bachman of Hudson and Lola Reau of Blissfield; and
six grandchildren, Adam, Aimee and Ashlee Lewis and Kierstin, Kaelyn and
Nicole Bachman. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his
parents, his Aunt Orla that raised him; a son, Thomas J. Bachman and two
brothers, Virgil D. Bachman, Jr. and James Bachman; and one sister, Lola
Bachman.
The funeral liturgy was offered Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 11 a.m.
at Light of Christ, St. Peter’s Parish in Blissfield with full military
rites conducted outside of church by the Blissfield American Legion Post
#325 and Blissfield V.F.W. Post #10912. Burial of cremains was in
Pleasant View Cemetery in Blissfield at a later date. Visitation was
held Friday, July 1, 2016 from 3-8 p.m. at the Anderson Rudd
Funeral Home, Blissfield.  Visitation was also held July 2 at
Light of Christ from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
