Charles Keen

DUBOIS, Pa. — Charles W. Keen, age 84, South Highland Street in DuBois, PA died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his residence.   Born on February 3, 1929 in Phoenix, MO, he was the son of the late Virgil & Mary Mae (Bodenhammer) Keen.   He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War.   On March 3, 1967, he married Janis (Goetz) Kimberling Keen. She survives.   Charles was a long standing member of the Ironworkers Local Union #55.  He enjoyed his family, his pipe and a good prank.  He also enjoyed playing horseshoes and was a lifetime member of DAD’s Horseshoe Club.   He is survived by four daughters, Pamela Foster and her husband, Dale of Springfield, MO, Mary Katheryn Keen of DuBois, PA, Susan Shaffer and her husband, Larry of DuBois, PA, Wendy Gangloff of Honolulu, HI, four sons, Randall Keen and his wife, Laura of Fairmount City, PA, Norman Kimberling of Josephine, PA, Neal Kimberling and his wife, Betsy of Cogan Station, PA and Nathan Kimberling of DuBois, PA, brothers, Ray and Lon, sisters, Myrt, Ireta, Betty, Wilma and Alma. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.   Charles was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nora, brothers, Gene, Don and Russ and one sister, Francis.   Visitation and funeral services were held from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home at 211 South Main Street in DuBois, PA 15801.
