The Whiteford women’s volleyball team swept Gabriel Richard tonight (Nov. 13) in regional finals to win the region title.
They swept Clinton Tuesday (Nov. 11) in the other part of the two-leg regional.
The Lady Bobcats will face Auburn Hills Oakland Nov. 19 at Whitmore Lake in the next step in MHSAA volleyball playoff action. Auburn Hills Oakland also swept their regional opponents.
The Whiteford Bobcat women’s volleyball team swept Clinton Nov. 12 in regional play to advance to a 7 p.m. Nov. 14 game against Gabriel Richard as regional action continues.
It was a good weekend for Whiteford sports. As the school was celebrating its football district championship, the Lady Bobcats came to Blissfield to sweep Erie-Mason in three sets to win the district crown in volleyball.
They will face Clinton Tuesday in the first round of regional play.
The Whiteford Bobcats rolled over the Allen Academy 61-20 Friday to win their District football championship. They move onto regional play this coming weekend. They will play at New Lothrop (11-0) this weekend.
Meanwhile, the Britton Deerfield Patriots met Loyola again in playoffs for the third year in a row. Again, Loyola advances, winning 57-0.
The Whiteford Lady Bobcats conquered the Britton Deerfield Patriots Monday, Nov. 4, then advanced to play the Blissfield Royals on Wednesday, Nov. 6, winning in a close battle in four sets of nail-biting action. On Saturday, the Bobcats play the winner of the Erie-Mason and Summerfield game at 10 a.m. at Blissfield High School’s gym for the District Title.
The Britton Deerfield Patriots took a 6-3 record to 8-1 Hudson Friday night and brought home a 42-28 District 2 win over the Tigers in the Region 4 MHSAA football playoffs.
The Patriots play in the Tri-County Conference. Hudson shared this year’s LCAA league title with Ida and Hillsdale.
BD will face this weekend’s winner of the Melvindale Academy for Business and Technology (5-4)/Detroit Loyola (9-0) matchup. The game will take place either next Friday or Saturday.
The Whiteford Bobcats will host round two of District 2 action in Region 4, Division 8 MHSAA football playoffs after defeating Sterling Heights Parkway Christian 59-6 in opening-round action at Whiteford.
The Bobcats brought a 7-2 record into the game and Parkway Christian brought a 5-4 record.
They will play the winner of the Lenawee Christian School (7-2) Detroit Allen (6-2) game.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association announced high school football playoff district matchups Sunday evening. Two area Tri County Conference teams’ records earned them play-off bids.
Whiteford (7-2) will play Sterling Heights Parkway Christian ((5-4) in a home game this coming weekend. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Lenawee Christian ( 7-2) and Detroit Allen (6-2) for the Division 8 district championship.
Britton Deerfield (6-3) will play in a a cross-county affair as they travel to Hudson most likely on Friday night for the first round in a Division 7 matchup. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Melvindale Academy for Business & Technology (5-4) and Detroit Loyola (9-0) game to advance to the regional championship.
The Whiteford Bobcats gave the Sand Creek Aggies a 54-6 spanking Friday night to earn a share of second place in the Tri County Conference.

The Blissfield varsity volleyball team defeated the LCAA rival Onsted Wildcats at home Oct. 15. The Lady Royals defeated the Wildcats in five sets, 25-18, 19-25, 25-15, 22-25 and 17-15 in an exciting finish that went down to the wire.
Blissfield’s trip to the County Tournament resulted in victories over Britton Deerfield 25-13 and 25-9, Hudson 25-9 and 25-7, and Lenawee Christian 25-16 and 25-14. The thorn in the side of the Royals proved to be the host Maples as they defeated Blissfield in two matches, 18-25 and 15-25 and then 21-25 and 21-25.
