The Bobcat women’s basketball team finished out their week with a bounce-back win at home over Ann Arbor Green Hills 58-44 last Friday, Dec. 6.

The men’s basketball season began Tuesday, Dec. 10, for Whitef0rd and Blissfield as the Bobcats hosted the Royals and claimed a 74-52 victory.

The Blissfield wrestling team started its season out with some great individual performances on the mat Saturday at the 13th annual Blissfield Invitational. As a team, the Royals finished in fourth place with 136.5 points.

The Britton Deerfield Patriot women’s basketball team rolled to an easy victory over Dundee Thursday, Dec. 5, by a score of 53-18.

Runners are invited to enjoy the Blissfield Village Christmas decorations and warm up with a hot beverage after the Second Annual Hot-Cha-Cha 5K Mug Run Friday, Dec. 13.
The new event was added to Blissfield Village’s Wassail Festival last year and this year will occur on Friday, Dec. 13. The Hot-Cha-Cha 5K Mug Run will take off from the beautifully decorated downtown, wind through the village neighborhoods, then end up back downtown for either hot wassail or hot chocolate.
The Wassail Fest is presented by Blissfield Rotary and hosted by Blissfield DDA/Main Street Program. The Hot-Cha-Cha 5K Mug Run aspect is sponsored by the Miss River Raisin Festival Scholarship Program and co-sponsored by Blissfield Coney Island and Borchardt Brothers Market.

Starting off on a roll, the Whiteford Bobcat volleyball team continued their winning ways in state playoff action against Auburn Hills Tuesday night, winning 25-19 and 25-9 in the first two sets. But the tide turned in the third set, as the Lady ‘Cats lost a close set 27-25.
After being tied in two sets apiece with a loss in the fourth of 25-17, everything turned on the fifth and final set. Auburn Hills, with a 15-8 win, took the night and advances to semi-finals at Battle Creek.
The Whiteford team has had a stellar season this year, claiming their league title, the District crown and their Regional Championship.

The Whiteford Bobcats’ bid for a state football title ended in New Lothrop as the unbeaten Hornets stung the ‘Cats 58-22 Friday night, Nov. 15 in regional play.
The halftime score was 49-16 with New Lothrop leading. Though Whiteford got the Hornets under control in the second half, holding New Lothrop to nine points, too much scoring damage was done in the first half bringing the Bobcats’ football season to an end a week after the team won the District crown.
New Lothrop advances to the state semi-finals next weekend, just one step from the finals at Ford Field.
The Whiteford women’s volleyball team swept Gabriel Richard tonight (Nov. 13) in regional finals to win the region title.
They swept Clinton Tuesday (Nov. 11) in the other part of the two-leg regional.
The Lady Bobcats will face Auburn Hills Oakland Nov. 19 at Whitmore Lake in the next step in MHSAA volleyball playoff action. Auburn Hills Oakland also swept their regional opponents.
