F.D. Ricker, age 69, of Blissfield, died Friday, August 12,
2016 in Adrian. He was born August 20, 1946,
in Adrian to Lawrence and Gayle (Scott) Ricker. F.D. was drafted to
serve his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 during the
Vietnam War. He had been a farmer all of his life. He also had been
employed by the Johns Manville Company in Waterville, Ohio. F.D.
enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He had been a Hunter
Education instructor since 1970. He was a member of the Palmyra Masonic
Lodge #184, the Scottish Rite in Toledo, the Zenobia Shriners, the
Marine Corp League, and the Blissfield American Legion Post #325.
F.D. is survived by a cousin, Janice (David) Wood of Blissfield; a
second cousin, Troy (Alicia) Wood; his companion, Nellie Lentz of
Blissfield, and her daughters, Dawn Butts and Yvette Smith. He was
preceded in death by his parents.

James “Jim” W. Tibbs, age 82, of Blissfield, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
James Walter Tibbs was born on May 24, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, to Jack and Teresa (Cissell) Tibbs. On September 14, 1958, Jim married the love of his life, Evelyn “Jeanette” Rigdon in Jackson, Michigan.
Jim’s family moved from Detroit to the Manitou Beach area in 1942. He attended Addison Schools, graduating in 1952, where he was very active in football and basketball. He proudly served in the Army during the late 50’s in Germany. Jim and his brother Jack took over the family business, Tibbs IGA grocery store in Manitou Beach. JASPER – Eleanor Mae Pifer passed away on July 27, 2016. She was born in Blissfield, and lived a wonderful life in the nearby area surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy (O’Haver) and William Thompson.
She graduated from Blissfield High School in 1962 and married the love of her life, Darrel Leland Pifer, on April 28th in the same year. She worked in the banking industry for twenty years in various departments and as Madison Township Deputy Clerk for over fifteen years. Above all else, Eleanor loved and cared for her family and helped create some of their fondest memories.

Darius O. “Bud” Riggs, 81, of Adrian, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Gaslight Village Assisted Living, Adrian.
Bud was born November 7, 1934, in Toledo, to parents Orley and Lovella (Mohler) Riggs. He was a Mechanical Engineer by trade and held several patents. Bud retired from Owens Illinois after over 30 years of service and then began a career with Doehler Jarvis where he eventually retired. During his career Bud taught night classes for Tool and Die Apprentices at Macomber Whitney and Whitmer High Schools. He served on the Whiteford Agricultural School Board for many years. He also taught CAM at Owens Community College. Bud was a 60-year member of the former Triad Lodge #708, now the Barton Smith Lodge # 613 F & AM.

ADRIAN—Ann L. Hasenpflug, 85, of Adrian, passed away at ProMedica Bixby on July 1, 2016.
Ann was born to Thomas and Rose (Barish) Norden on March 18, 1931, in Escanaba, Michigan. After graduating from Adrian High School in 1949, she married Douglas Hasenpflug at Trinity Lutheran Church, Riga, on July 28, 1951. They were blessed with 65 years together.
Ann loved to bake, do crossword puzzles and build doll houses. She and her husband co owned the Frosty Boy for twenty years and Doug’s Market, in Jasper for ten years. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her loving husband, Doug, she is survived by her devoted children, Michael (Sandra) Hasenpflug and Barbara Hasenpflug, all of Adrian; grandchildren, Kimberly Mynes and Parker (Olivia) Hasenpflug; and great grandchildren, Peyton and Preston Mynes and Gabriela and Reed Hasenpflug.

LaPoint and Enola LaPoint Bouse in Whiteford Center, MI. She married
Robert Boop on March 1, 1941. She was a member of Deerfield and

Doyle Eugene Bachman, age 83, of Blissfield, died June 28,
2016 at Charlotte Stephenson Manor in Adrian. He was born August 5, 1932,
in Chesterfield Twp., Ohio, to Virgil Dale and Nina Irene (Bailey) Bachman,
Sr. After his mother’s death, he was raised by his Aunt Orla M. Bachman.
On June 19, 1954, he married Mildred C. Reau in Deerfield and she preceded
him in death on July 11, 2006.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. Doyle had been employed as
Superintendent of Postal Operations at the Blissfield Post Office for 33
years, retiring on December 1, 1991. He was a member of the Light of
Christ, St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Blissfield, was a former member of
the Usher’s Club for many years, a former member of the Holy Name Society,

He was born at home, in Riga Township, on October 15, 1942 to Lawrence H. and Alma (Knoblauch) Koester. He graduated from Blissfield High School in 1961 and then served in the Army from 1963 to 1965. On May 20, 1967, he married the love of his life, Karen Knisel at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Riga. They were blessed with 49 years of marriage.
Lynn was lucky to have worked in what he really considered to be his hobbies. He worked as a custom cabinet maker for Wienlanders, was a licensed builder, a building inspector, worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural letter carrier, for 18 years and was a life time farmer. Trevor Michael Seeger, age 34, passed away June 29, 2016, at his home in Toledo. Trevor was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on August 11, 1981 to Michael Seeger and Deborah Hilton. A 1999 graduate of Blissfield High School, Trevor was self-employed as an auto detailer. He had a great love for sports, especially football and baseball.
Trevor is survived by his parents; brother, Aaron (Sara) Seeger; grandfather, Robert Seeger; aunts and uncles, Rick and Tammy Hilton, Ron and Susie Estes, and John and Sandy Morse; and 8 close cousins. SAGINAW – Doyle A. Sundquist age 96 of Saginaw, MI, formerly of Adrian, MI, passed away peacefully at the Saginaw VA Medical Center on Tuesday July 12, 2016. Doyle was born July 7, 1920 in Grand Rapids, MI to parents Anton J and Dorothy J (Pullen) Sundquist. Preceding him in death (2009) was his lovely wife Viva (Gottschalk) Sundquist, and sisters, Carmen Bourdette and Alice Betz.
He proudly served in the US Army Air Corps and was stationed in England during WWII. He retired from Johnson Controls in Adrian, MI in 1982. He was a long time member of the Community United Presbyterian Church of Palmyra, MI and was also an active member of Blissfield American Legion, as well as the Adrian VFW.
