ADRIAN — Susan M. Ellis, age 71, of Adrian, died on Friday, November 20, 2015, at the Hospice of Lenawee’s Hospice Home, Adrian.
She was born October 24, 1944, in Tecumseh to Albert and Anna (Frye) Dettman.
She had been employed by the Handleman Company in Troy for 28 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Blissfield. Susan compassionately cared for her 104 year old mother, Anna for the past seven years. Susan enjoyed playing cards, going on casino trips and was a member of the Pinochle Club and a bowling league.

Clemmie Elizabeth Butts, age 68, of Blissfield died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Genesis Healthcare Center.
She was born December 24, 1946 in Dover, TN to Leslie and Clemmie (Page) Porter.

Litchfield Park, Ariz.— Leon E. Brown was born June 7, 1945, to Glenn and Audrey (Dings) Brown. He died Sept. 13, 2015 at home in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
Leon graduated in 1963 from Blissfield High School as co-salutatorian and went on to college at Michigan Technical University with a masters degree in the Science of Nuclear Engineering.
He went on to work in the nuclear industry including at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Phoenix, Ariz. as a start-up manager. He also started his own business, Leeda Enterprises, where he did consulting work. He worked for A.L.A.R.A. Engineer where he wrote decommissioning procedures for nuclear power plants in California, Michigan, Tennessee and Florida, and teaching procedures at seminars in France and Germany.

Ronald Myron Jacob, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, Sept.16, 2015, at his home in Blissfield, in the care of his family and close friends.
Ron was born on March 27, 1937, in Adrian to Evadna (Maierle) and Myron Jacob, both of whom precede him in death.
Surviving him are his loving wife of 47 years, Sallie (Berry) Jacob, his adoring daughters, Sarah (John) DeCaro of Ellwood City, Pa., and Rachel (Bruno Monnier) Jacob of Chicago, Ill., his grandson, John DeCaro III of State College, Pa., and the son he never had, Tom (Dana) Peltcs of Tecumseh.
Also surviving are his sister, Marilee Purse and nephews, Barry and Gary Purse of Tecumseh.

Steven M. Cannon, age 55 of Blissfield, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Regency Hospital in Sylvania.
He was born December 4, 1959, in Adrian to John “Jack” and Catherine (Berry) Cannon.
He graduated in 1978 from Blissfield High School where he was very involved in baseball, football, and basketball. Steve was a member of the baseball team that won back-to-back state championships, earning his induction into the Hall of Fame.
On February 7, 2003, Steven married Maria Zimmer, and she survives.
Steve was the parts manager at Knapp Motors in Blissfield for over 30 years.
He remained active in sports, enjoying league bowling, softball and baseball.

Charles (Chuck) Schultz of Blissfield and Longboat Key, Fla., has passed under the wonderful care of his wife Mary, Sept 13, 2015.
He was a wonderful husband for 47 years to his wife Mary and a great father to his sons David and Joel Schultz.
He is also survived by his brother Ron Schultz, his sister Ada Mae Newton, daughter-in-laws, Robin Schultz and Mary Schultz, his grandchildren Dalton, Timothy, and Nesha, great grandson Timothy Jr., and also so very important in his life, all of his friends.
Charles Shultz was a wonderful provider to his family serving in the Air Force, employed with Eastern airlines, then the University of Michigan hospital, finally retiring to Longboat Key FL with his wife.

ADRIAN – Doris Marie Graf, age 89, of Adrian, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
She was born February 8, 1926, in Adrian, to Thomas and Elizabeth (Stutzman) Lowery.
On August 17, 1946, she married Willard Graf. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2012.
She and her husband, Willard were co-owners and operators of Adrian Oil Burner Service for 30 years.
Doris was a member of the First Church of the Brethren of Adrian. She dearly loved to cook for her family and was best known for her pies. Doris’s family was the center of her life. She was an avid and talented quilter, sharing this gift with others.

Rose Marie Long, 96, of Blissfield, died September 12, 2015. Rose had been in assisted health care since December, 2009. Surrounded by her family, she passed away quietly in the Nevins home.
Rose was born February 16, 1919, in Antwerp, Ohio to the late Henry and Amelia (Schantz) Mueller. In 1920 the family, with four small children, moved by horse and buggy from Antwerp, OH to establish their Mueller family farming roots north of Deerfield. One of 14 children, Rose attended St. Alphonsus Catholic School (Deerfield) into high school. On May 13th, 1935, in Angola, Indiana she married L. J. Long, son of Orlando and Edna (Baker) Long of Blissfield. They spent their early years near Britton farming livestock before settling into their lifetime residence in Blissfield.

Dr. Shannon was born in Mount Vernon, New York on October 6, 1931, to James and Marian Polly Shannon.
Gordon served proudly in the Navy and Coast Guard from 1948-1955 attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Following his honorable discharge, he graduated from the University of Florida, and the University of Miami, School of Medicine. He was a family doctor in Blissfield, Michigan, for a number of years before taking his residency in Surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He was born on May 11, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, to Edward and Lucille (Wilkins) Rudd.
On June 21, 1953, he was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Jaques in Angola, Indiana. She preceded him in death on July 18, 2000.
Ed was employed with Dana Corporation in Toledo, Ohio as a machine operator for 30 years and four months before retiring in 1989. He was very active in his community, including coaching 3B Little League in Bedford in the 1960s and serving as President of the Bedford Band Boosters from 1978-1988.
