ADRIAN – Doris Marie Graf, age 89, of Adrian, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
She was born February 8, 1926, in Adrian, to Thomas and Elizabeth (Stutzman) Lowery.
On August 17, 1946, she married Willard Graf. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2012.
She and her husband, Willard were co-owners and operators of Adrian Oil Burner Service for 30 years.
Doris was a member of the First Church of the Brethren of Adrian. She dearly loved to cook for her family and was best known for her pies. Doris’s family was the center of her life. She was an avid and talented quilter, sharing this gift with others.

Rose Marie Long, 96, of Blissfield, died September 12, 2015. Rose had been in assisted health care since December, 2009. Surrounded by her family, she passed away quietly in the Nevins home.
Rose was born February 16, 1919, in Antwerp, Ohio to the late Henry and Amelia (Schantz) Mueller. In 1920 the family, with four small children, moved by horse and buggy from Antwerp, OH to establish their Mueller family farming roots north of Deerfield. One of 14 children, Rose attended St. Alphonsus Catholic School (Deerfield) into high school. On May 13th, 1935, in Angola, Indiana she married L. J. Long, son of Orlando and Edna (Baker) Long of Blissfield. They spent their early years near Britton farming livestock before settling into their lifetime residence in Blissfield.

MARATHON, Fla. — Gordon James Shannon MD passed away peacefully Friday, August 28, 2015, surrounded by his family.
Dr. Shannon was born in Mount Vernon, New York on October 6, 1931, to James and Marian Polly Shannon.
Gordon served proudly in the Navy and Coast Guard from 1948-1955 attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Following his honorable discharge, he graduated from the University of Florida, and the University of Miami, School of Medicine. He was a family doctor in Blissfield, Michigan, for a number of years before taking his residency in Surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He continued his training, and specialized in Cardio/Thoracic surgery.

LAMBERTVILLE — Edward William Rudd, age 81, of Lambertville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 28, 2015, at his home.
He was born on May 11, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, to Edward and Lucille (Wilkins) Rudd.
On June 21, 1953, he was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Jaques in Angola, Indiana. She preceded him in death on July 18, 2000.
Ed was employed with Dana Corporation in Toledo, Ohio as a machine operator for 30 years and four months before retiring in 1989. He was very active in his community, including coaching 3B Little League in Bedford in the 1960s and serving as President of the Bedford Band Boosters from 1978-1988.

She was born August 17,1929, in Toledo, Ohio to Anthony and Anna (Lucas) Kucera.
On February 19, 1955, she married LaVern Cousino in Toledo, Ohio and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1985. Mary Ann devoted her life to being a wife and mother, raising 4 children and becoming “nana” to 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She loved to bake and was well known for her delicious pastries.

Joni M. Goodrow, age 53 years of Hudson, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born on January 30, 1962 in Adrian, the daughter of Donald M. and Rose J. (Lievens) Harpst.
Joni graduated from Adrian High School in 1980 and got her teaching degree from Siena Heights University.
She married Rodger A. Goodrow on April 27, 1985, at St. Joseph Church in Adrian. He survives.
Joni was an elementary school teacher for St. Joseph Academy. She enjoyed gardening, garage sales, cooking, being with her grandchildren and was very passionate about God’s Word.

Robert Elmer Gentz, of Blissfield, passed away August 26, 2015, at Tecumseh Place. Robert was born August 19, 1929 to Elmer and Elsie Gentz of Blissfield, Michigan.
Robert was a hard-working auto mechanic and journeyman electrician for many years. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1991 and became an avid golfer.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Gentz.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Jennie (Dowling), and children, Charlyn Watch, Debra Miles (Thomas), Terry Gentz (Ginny), and Sharon Wingerd (Paul) and sister, Marjorie French, and 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Bruce Denton Monroe, 81, returned to his heavenly home on August 30, 2015, after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
“I’ll be seeing you down the road,” was something that Bruce said to us during his last weeks. For someone who had sayings for almost every situation in life, it was another that showed his gentle and polite nature. That he would talk of such a difficult situation in a gracious way.

James Edmund Siering, 79, of rural Blissfield, died Sunday morning, August 23, 2015, at ProMedica Bixby Medical Center.
He was born April 18, 1936, in Blissfield, to the late William and Thelma (Webster) Siering.
He married the love of his life, Kaye Jean Diver, on November 21, 1959, at St. Alphonsus Parish in Deerfield, and she survives.
Jim lived his entire life in Blissfield, where he graduated from high school in 1954.
He worked as a skilled tradesman for Delphi for nearly 25 years, and retired in 2001.
Jim is remembered for his selfless and virtuous character, who always led by example. He lived his life for the benefit of others, always giving priority and time to other people before himself. He and Kaye often opened their home to people in their time of need.

Klump January 8, 1932. He married Margaret E. Vossberg and together they raised seven children. David was a life long farmer, past member of Christian Business Men of Toledo, Whiteford School Board Member for 14 years, Whiteford Township Board Trustee, 14 years, Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Commission, and Farm Bureau.
