PALMYRA – Mary Ann DeNudt, 70, of Palmyra passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Lynwood Manor in Adrian, under the care of Great Lakes Hospice.
She was born April 27, 1943 to Myron and Myrtle (Brubaker) Iffland. On April 23, 1960, she married Raymond R. DeNudt at St. Peters Church in Blissfield, and he survives.
Mary worked as a supervisor at Blissfield Elementary and also as a cashier at Family Dollar. Her most important role however, was that of wife, mother and grandmother.

RIGA — Elda C. Griewahn, 94, of Riga, passed away peacefully Friday, January 24th, 2014 with her family by her side. Elda was born May 8th, 1919 in Whiteford Township, Michigan. She was the daughter of Frederick J. and Anna (Kibler) Kopp. She married the love of her life Guernon (Abe) Griewahn on October 27th, 1945 in Riga, Michigan. They were married 62 years before Guernon preceded her in death in 2009. Elda was a charter member of the Standard Extension Club. She loved to read, do her “fancy work” (embroidery), and travel. Mary Ellen Goetz, 84, of Blissfield, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at the Life Care Center in Sarasota, Fla. She was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Adrian, to Theodore and Mildred Kleindienst. She married William E. Goetz on Nov. 19, 1948, in Blissfield and he survives. Mary lived in Blissfield her whole life, wintering in Bradenton, Fla., which she loved dearly. Surviving besides her husband are her sons, David (Michelle), Larry (Marilyn), Robert (Joan) and Theodore (Jean) Goetz; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Elaine. A private ceremony will be held at a later date in Blissfield.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Brian J. “Shaggy” Domanski, 39 of Toledo, formerly of Deerfield passed away unexpectedly. He was born on December 2, 1974 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Daniel and Petrica “Pat” (Spannagel) Domanski. Brian graduated in 1993 from Deerfield High School. He was working at PPI (Production Products Inc.), in Columbus Grove, Ohio. Brian lived life to the fullest riding his Harley, shooting pool and being out on the water. Brian’s pool shooting abilities sent him twice to Las Vegas for tournaments. He was a very social person and loved spending time with family and friends. Linda J. Klump, 55, of Arlington Heights, Ill., passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014, from influenza at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Born November 19, 1958, in Adrian, Linda was the oldest child of Arnold and Barbara (Bailor) Klump. She graduated from Blissfield High School and attended Calvin College before graduating from Michigan State University. Linda passed the CPA exam a few years after college and worked in the insurance industry her whole career. She is survived by her life partner, Tom Mullaly, father Arnold Klump of Blissfield, brothers Bruce Klump of Los Angeles, Calif., and Bryan (Laura) Klump and nieces Elaina and Alexa Klump of Toledo, Ohio. Wayne VanNieuwenhze, 70, of Blissfield passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the Toledo Hospital. He was born on January 17, 1943 in Adrian, Michigan to Henry and Irene (Staup) VanNieuwenhze. In his youth he played basketball and was an accomplished baseball player. On March 17, 1962, Wayne was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Sallie Griewahn in Palmyra. Wayne worked as a Master Bricklayer for Krieghoff for 18 years and was also employed by General Motors for 30 years before retiring. He was a little league coach for many years and belonged to numerous golf and bowling leagues in Blissfield and Adrian. Wayne was a talented stained glass artisan. Geneva M. Leonard, 84 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe County, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2014. Born July 11, 1929 in Monroe, Geneva was the daughter of the late Perry R. and Bernice L. (Logan) Luse. Geneva was a 1946 graduate of Blissfield High School and attended Davis Business College in Toledo, Ohio. On August 19, 1955, Geneva married her beloved husband Robert G. Leonard at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Blissfield. Sadly, Robert preceded her in death on August 30, 2008, after 53 years of marriage. Geneva was employed as a secretary for Monroe Auto Equipment Company for 37 years from which she retired in 1991. She also enjoyed being a homemaker. Emerson L. Bliesner, 84 of Blissfield, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Winter Haven Hospital, in Winter Haven, Florida, where he and his wife, Barbara had wintered for the last 13 years. Emerson was born to Lawrence and Dorothy (Gaubitz) Bliesner, July 7, 1929 in Blissfield. On December 31, 1952, he married Barbara Billington. They just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. He worked at Tecumseh Products Co. for 44 years, retiring in 1991. He was a life time member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Riga. PALMYRA — Keith Williams, 57, of Palmyra, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Toledo Hospital. Keith was born November 3, 1956 in Monroe, MI to Jack and June (Schadewald) Williams. He graduated from Deerfield High School with the class of 1975. Keith worked at Ford Motor Company and Libby Owens Ford. Keith was an exceptional man, always helping others who needed him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was looking forward to his first grandchild, Thatcher Elliott (Tad), in March. Having a great sense of humor, he loved to joke and razz people. Joseph L. Hall, 67, Bradenton, died January 3, 2014. Born in Toledo, Ohio, he moved to Bradenton as a seasonal resident in 1973 and became a permanent resident in 1993 from Blissfield, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Bradenton. His biggest thrill was selling you a bottle of By-Pas, a cleaning product business his dad helped him set up many years ago, which kept him motivated for most of his adult life. He was named after his two grandfathers, Joseph and Lawrence and remembered them both fondly.
