CLAYTON – Loretta F. Burch, age 92, of Clayton, died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Hospice of Lenawee, Hospice Home. She was born February 16, 1922 in William Co., OH to John and Clara (Thiel) Stark. She married Lawrence Burch on May 17, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1992. Loretta was a member of St. Mary’s on the Lake, the Irish Hills Region Antique Auto Car Club; the Antique Farmers Tractor Club of Adrian and the Heritage Farmer Tractor Club of Adrian. She was a music teacher in her home and in the Onsted Public Schools.

Henry J. “Hank” Wiesmann, age 79 of Adrian, MI died peacefully at home surrounded by his family May 26, 2014. He was born Dec. 1, 1934 on the family farm in Clayton, MI, to Anton & Rose (Mueller) Wiesmann.
He graduated in 1952 from St. Mary’s High School in Adrian and attended Michigan State University. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1958 and was honorably discharged from the Army Chemical Center in Edgewood, MD. On Sept. 17, 1960, he married Joyce Calhoun, and they enjoyed a marriage of 53 years.
Hank joined The Raisin Presbyterian Church of Holloway, Britton, MI in 1972 where he served as a Ruling Elder and Sunday School Teacher for many years. Peter Poluka, age 93 of Blissfield, passed away at his home Saturday, May 3, 2014. He was born June 22, 1920, in Bell Valley, Ohio, to Steven and Theresa Poluka. While working in a defense plant in New Jersey, Peter met Margaret Michalko whom he married on November 23, 1944 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and she survives. Peter retired in 1982 from Johnson Controls where he had worked as an engineer for many years. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and pitching for softball teams. Peter was a member of Light of Christ Catholic Parish in Blissfield. DEERFIELD — Keith T. Diver, age 65, of Deerfield passed away April 22, 2014. He was born March 7, 1949 in Tecumseh, the son of Beaumont and Lillian (LaVoy) Diver. He married Joan R. Klippel on June 12, 1970, in Richfield Center, Ohio, and she survives. Keith proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 -1972. He owned and operated Meyers – Diver’s Airport in Tecumseh for over 40 years. Keith graduated from Deerfield High School and had worked in skilled trades as a Machine Repairman at Ford Motor Company in Saline for 30 years, retiring in 1997. BRITTON — Paul Peter Laslo, age 97 of Britton, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 15, 1917, in Canada, to Joseph and Anna Laslo. Paul served in the US Army and was a WWII veteran. On November 26, 1949, he married Carolyn Martin and she preceded him in death in 1987. On October 10, 1987, he married Mary Pieplow in Adrian. Arthur Robert Vandenbusche, 81 of Blissfield passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 25, 2014, at home. He was born on May 12, 1932 in Ogden Township to Robert and Lucille (Lazoen) Vandenbusche. Arthur was united in marriage in 1956 to Rose Marie Loar, in Angola, Indiana. He was a self employed farmer retiring in 1997. Arthur served in the U.S. Army from September 18, 1952, to September 17, 1960. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Blissfield, Blissfield American Legion, the Gleaners Society. Jeanette Ogden, age 96 of Blissfield, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility with her family by her side. She was born May 2, 1917, in Blissfield, Michigan, to the late Edward and Madge (Smith) Brown. Jeanette was a member of the graduating Class of 1935 from Blissfield High School. On August 21, 1947, she was married to Richard Ogden, and they celebrated almost 62 years of marriage before his death in 2009. Jeanette worked at Tibbs Brothers IGA and the Gambles store. She was a lifetime member of the Blissfield American Legion Auxilliary. ADRIAN—Margaret Pearl (Lipp) Miller passed away peacefully at Magnum Care Nursing Home in Adrian, Michigan on February 28th in the early evening. She was born on February 26th, 1922 to the late Martin and Edith (Johnson) Lipp in Riga, Michigan. She was well attended to by the staff at Magnum Care over the last few years and made many friends of the staff and residents at the home.
Margaret was raised on a farm in the Riga area until age 7 when her father died leaving her mother and four sisters, Ruth, Alice, Helen and Gladys to continue on. It was a bit of a struggle but they worked together and all became very close as a result of the loss. They moved to Blissfield where Margaret graduated from high school. Yvonne S. Diedrich, age 57 of Blissfield, passed away unexpectedly at her home Wednesday, January 29, 2014. She was born August 17, 1956, in Toledo, Ohio to Raymond and Barbara (Barker) Hugill Sr. Yvonne graduated from Eastwood High School in Pemberville, Ohio, and attended both the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University.
On July 23, 2002, Yvonne married Alfred Diedrich in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and he survives.
Yvonne retired in 2011 from Toledo Public Schools where she was a sign language interpreter for 23 years, most recently at Waite High School. She enjoyed the students and served as an advisor for several school clubs. Yvonne collected cut glass and was a member of the American Cut Glass Association.
