The Whiteford softball team completed a busy week with three wins at Whitmore Lake Saturday.
The Bobcats (7-11) went 3-0, with wins over Gabriel Richard (6-3), Addison (16-8) and Morrice (16-2)
Jordan Kiefer tossed a five hitter, giving up one earned run while striking out four against Gabriel Richard. She helped herself at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and run. Bailey Spindler was also 2-for-4. Brittni Collins was 1-for-2 with three RBI. Megan Ortmann had a hit and RBI and Becky Worden doubled.
Brittni Collins pitched for the win against Addison, giving up seven hits and two earned runs. She struck out two and walked five. Worden had three hits, including a triple, and four RBI. She scored three runs. Caitlin Granata had three hits, including a triple, two RBI and four runs scored. Bailey Spindler had two hits, a walk and four runs. Collins had two hits and three RBI. Shelby DeShetler and Megan Ortmann also had hits.
Jordan Kiefer gave up no earned runs in an eight-hitter as Whiteford beat Morrice. She struck out five and walked one.
Worden hit for the cycle and drove in six runs. The junior also crossed the plate three times. Spindler also had three hits and four runs. Kiefer and Chelsea Perry each had two hits and a run scored. DeShetler doubled, walked twice, drove in two runs and scored twice. Liz Bond drove in a run and singled.
Whiteford dropped a doubleheader at Madison Friday.
Whiteford dropped the first game, 5-2. Jordan Kiefer took the loss, giving up an earned run on eight hits and four strike outs.
Abby LaRoy singled and doubled and Caitlin Granata hit two doubles for Whiteford. Bailey Spindler and Chelsea Perry each singled.
In the non-league game, Madison won 10-6. Brittni Collins was the losing pitcher, giving up one earned run on six hits and four walks. She struck out eight. Granata was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Collins had a single and double. Worden tripled and drove in a run. LaRoy, Spindler and Perry singled.
Whiteford fell to 2-3 in the TCC.
The Bobcats won their first TCC games of the year Monday with a sweep at Morenci.
Whiteford won the opener 10-1. Jordan Kiefer allowed six hits. She gave up one unearned run while striking out six. She walked none. Brittni Collins was 3-for-4 with a double and RBI. Becky Worden was 3-for-4. Shelby DeShetler was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Abby LaRoy had a hit and two RBI.
The second game was a non-league game. Whiteford won 10-0. Collins pitched a four-hit shutout, walking win and striking out two in her first varsity pitching win.
She was also 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI. Granata was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Shelby DeShetler was 2-for-4 with a homer. Leesa Rodgers doubled and drove in two runs.
