Vesta Wyman

ADRIAN — Vesta M. Wyman, 83, of Adrian, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, January 12, 2012.

Born November 18, 1928, in Detroit, Vesta was the youngest daughter of Burnice and Helen (Allen) Pentelow.  She was a 1946 graduate of Sand Creek High School.  In 1947 she graduated from County Normal, now Eastern Michigan University, and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Adrian College.
Vesta began her teaching career in one-room schoolhouses in 1947.  She retired from Summerfield Elementary School in 1994, having taught for 47 years.  After retiring, Vesta traveled extensively throughout Europe touring castles.  She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Pistons.  She also enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching.  Vesta attended Bethany Assembly of God Church.
Vesta loved spending time with her family and will be missed by those surviving including her children: Charles (Kyong) Wyman of Huntsville, Alabama; Rebecca (Greg) Albright of Adrian; Beth (Steve) Wilson and John Wyman, both of Blissfield; 10 grandchildren: Shane (Melissa) Wyman, Tom Wyman, Jason (Nicole) Mattek, Josh, and Jonathan Mattek; Ethan and Eli Albright; Nathan (Aubrey) Wilson, Nicholas Wilson; and Jan Wyman; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Moore and Betty Burrow.
The funeral services  for Vesta were held at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2012, at Wagley Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Samonek officiating.  Burial will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee or Abundant Life Assembly.  You may also send condolences to the family at www.WagleyFuneralHome.com.
