Thelma M. Loar, 84, of Blissfield, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at home surrounded by the family she loved.
Thelma was born Dec. 25, 1926, in Sylvania, Ohio, the daughter of Reinhart and Florence (Brodbeck) Fink.
On May 29, 1947, she was married to Wayland McKee Loar. They celebrated almost 40 years of marriage prior to his death on May 25, 1987.
She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling, baking, and gardening.
Thelma treasured her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by three sons: Ken Loar of Evart, MI; Roger (Connie Aten) Loar; and Wayne (Jackie Metzger) Loar, both of Blissfield; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel Isley, of Blissfield.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Richard and Edwin.
The funeral services for Thelma were held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel.
