RIGA -- The South Riga Go-Getters 4-H club start their 2010-2011 year out with their first meeting to be held Monday, Sept. 20 at the Riga Fire Hall. This evening includes potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. with a business meeting.
The club will be have a "Remember your years in 4-H" night. Everyone is asked to bring a project, picture, ribbon or trophy to display that evening. Registration forms for the upcoming year will be handed out at this meeting. Forms have changed from all previous year and are taking on a different format, and members are asked to make sure to attend to receive them. The club is open to children as young as five and students who are high seniors as of Jan. 1, 2011.
South Riga Go-Getters offers a variety of projects from animals to crafts and arts, sewing, food, small engines, lost arts, and more. South Riga Go-Getters members are asked to bring in five glass bottles/jars to be recycled as one of the club’s community service projects.
