Marian Louise Sattler, 83 of Blissfield passed away on Monday, April 05, 2010 at her home. She was born on May 18, 1926 in Tecumseh, Michigan, the daughter of Royal and Clemantine (McCallister) Haas. On February 13, 1947, Marian was united in marriage to Donald Sattler. He survives.
Marian devoted her life to her home and family. She was a member of the United Brethren Church in Blissfield and was a proud sponsor of the Lakota Indian children from St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, South Dakota. In her spare time, Marian enjoyed spending time with her family at their cabin in Harrison, Michigan, where she actively fished and hunted. Marian was a collector of various stones and loved to sit and watch the birds whenever she could.
Surviving is her husband, Donald Sattler of Blissfield; 3 children, Greg (Tanna) Sattler of Tecumseh, Laura (Dan) Sauter of Palmyra and Lezlie Whiteford of Blissfield; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dean Haas and sisters, Alta Mae Crist and Helen Bangeter; her daughter, Brenda DeLisle and her son, Bradley Sattler.
Following Marian’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Marian will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tagsold Funeral Home in Blissfield. Burial of her ashes will follow in Pleasantview Cemetery in Blissfield. In lieu of flowers, please consider making contributions to the Hospice of Lenawee. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
