PALMYRA — Margreet “Muggs” Jackson, 87, of Palmyra, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
She was born January 25, 1924, in Adrian, the daughter of Percy and Gladys (Lowrey) Coleman.
Muggs graduated from Adrian High School with the Class of 1941. On March 20, 1943, she was married to Richard E. Jackson in Louisiana. Richard, her husband of over 68 years, survives.
Muggs worked as a bookkeeper for Snedeker Machine Shop, Albro Motor Sales; and most recently for Walker, Watts, Jackson & McFarland Law Offices. She was also a seamstress for Jim Green’s Men’s Shop.
Muggs was a faithful member of the Palmyra Presbyterian Church where she served as secretary of the Session.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by their sons: Richard (Mary Jo) Jackson of Palmyra; Douglas (Glenda) Jackson of Marshall; and Mark (Beth) Jackson of Palmyra; eight grandchildren: Dr. Jodi (Steve) Sterle, Chad (Sandee) Jackson, Jeff (Michelle) Jackson, Kristin (David) Martin, Kyle (Jessica) Jackson, Kathryn Jackson, Melanie (Joseph) Brugger, and Melissa (Travis) Timar; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Hooper and Winnie Lair.
