Karen Salsbury

RIGA — Karen Kay Salsbury, age 67, of Riga, passed away September 14, 2011. She was born October 5, 1943, in Blissfield, MI, to Oscar & Mary (Conrad) Miller. She was a 1992 graduate of Blissfield High School. She married Reid Salsbury in 1985 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riga. He preceded her in death in 2005. 

Karen enjoyed camping, puzzle books, children and grandchildren, traveling, cooking , gardening, watching TV, internet games and was actively involved in Blue Bird, campfire, cub scout leader. Adrian Police Explorer Adviser, Riga Fire Department dispatcher and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.   
She is survived by her mother, Mary Miller of Adrian, her brother, Melvin (Melanie) Miller of Jasper, her sister, Pat Druckenmiller of Fremont, Ohio, her children, Lori (Sam) Rohrbach of Houston, Texas, Scott (Dawn) Orner of Riga, Korissa Orner of Riga, stepchildren, Bruce (Sharon) Salsbury of Blissfield, Tom (Kim) Salsbury of Jerome, Diane (Ziggy) Mathis of Southgate, Pam Salsbury of Ida, her grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica (Jay), Elizabeth (Ben), Ashley, Shelby, Kevin, Stephanie (Sean), Alex and Erica, three great grandchildren, Matt, Aiden and Phoebe. Her cat Sassy will miss her drastically.   
In addition to her husband Reid, she was preceded in death by her father, Oscar, one brother, Robert, two sisters, Alva and Dorothy and two stepsons, Brian and Mark.     
Memorial Services will be held 4 p.m. Friday, September 23 , 2011, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with Pastor Angela Zimmann officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
