Garry W. Vader, 85, of Surprise, Az., and formerly of Blissfield, died January 17, 2012, in Surprise.
Born November 28, 1926, in Michigan, City, Ind., Garry was the son of Gary and Helen (Riterdanz) Vader. They preceded him in death.
Garry was a veteran of the U.S. Army Airborne.
He married Edith Jackson on December 15, 1951. She preceded him in death on December 29, 1996.
On October 30, 1999, Garry married his childhood sweetheart, Doris, and she survives.
Garry had been employed by National Transportation and worked 20 years as a manager with Ford Motor Co., and 20 years with (AMC) Chrysler Corp.
His hobbies including playing golf and traveling. He was a member of Transportation Association of Milwaukee, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Delta Nu Alpha transportation authority, Blissfield VFW Post 10912, Masonic Palmyra Lodge 184 and Shrine Moslem Temple, Detroit.
In addition to his wife, Garry is survived by stepchildren Vicky (Paul) Okamato and Sherry (Bruce) Myers, both of Phoenix and Paul Maxson of Surprise; two stepgrandsons; and nieces Karen (Bruce) Gentz of Palmyra and Monica (Dale) Wotring of Blissfield.
The funeral was January 20, 2012, at Phoenix Memorial Park, with special Masonic services. Burial was in Phoenix Memorial Park.
