Fern E. Kruse, 91, of Blissfield passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2010 at her home. She was born on Aug. 4, 1918 in Riga, the daughter of Ira and Margaret (Luse) Eisenmann. On January 10, 1947, Fern was married to Arthur Kruse. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2007.
Fern was a graduate of Cleary Business College and worked as a bookkeeper for the Blissfield Home Canning Company. Fern also devoted her life to being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a member of the Deerfield Free Methodist Church, the Women’s Christian Temperance Union and the Women’s Missionary Society. Fern loved to tend to her flowers in her friendship flower garden in her spare time.
Surviving are her children, Kay (Mark) Milks-Morton of Petersburg, Jeanette (Ron) Munnings of Blissfield, and Dennis (Annie) Kruse of Tucsan, Ariz.; one brother, Lowell (Eileen) Eisenmann of Blissfield; one sister, Florence Mary (Elmer) Anderson of Milan; five grandchildren, Lee Brockway, Jeremy Milks, Belinda Brockway, Jason Milks and Joshua Kruse and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Arthur, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Virgil Eisenmann and Oscar Eisenmann.
Funeral services for Fern will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Deerfield Free Methodist Church in Deerfield with Pastor Robert DeLoria officiating. Burial will follow in Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Tagsold Funeral Home in Blissfield and after 10 a.m. on Monday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Deerfield Free Methodist Church or the Free Methodist Missions. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
