ADRIAN — Della Ericsson, age 92, of Adrian, formerly of Blissfield, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011, in Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
She was born April 18, 1919, in Detroit to Carolina and Anthony Frankowicz.
On January 23, 1943, she married to Edgar Ericsson
Della is survived by her adopted family, Rhea Schaedler, Carol (David) Miller, Douglas (Elaine) Schaedler, Phillip (Barbara) Schaedler, Laura Schaedler, Roseann Lievens, Susan Coopshaw, Sandra (Skip) Todd, Sharon (Jeff) Clark, and Charles (Lynette) Lievens. Her little birds, Aaron, Nathan and Jeremy Miller, Natalie and Kevin Schaedler, Nick Coopshaw, Cassie and Chris Todd; Colby, Lauren and Chase Lievens, Logan and Jordan Crane, her nieces, Elsie Johnston, Sandy Aklassa, Delphine Cromwell, Amy Aleo, Jack Prechowski, Sharon Hunt, Susan Kirsh, Herbert Frankowica, Roby Boyd and Patrick Frankowica, a great- niece Patricia Johnston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric on July 28, 1989; her brothers, Edward, Ray and Robert Frankowicz, her sisters, Fran Stasiek, Virginia Prechowski, Angie Allen and Loretta Bruz. Della and Edgar met during WWII while working at Ford Motor Company.
Della was very proud that she worked as a draftsman at Ford.
After the war Edgar and Della bought the Blissfield Hatchery and moved to Blissfield. While in Blissfield Della worked at Blissfield Trucking, Les Frank Lincoln Mercury and Bailey’s Rexall Drug.
She was a member of the Woman’s Society of Blissfield First United Methodist Church.
Visitation for Della will be held on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian with Reverend David Hudgins officiating. Private burial will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery in Blissfield.
