Bobcats delivery victory

Coach sets tone in defeat of Madison
Forrest Grosteffon jumps high for the tip as the Bobcats took on Madison at home Jan. 14.

“Victory,” coach Jim Ross shouted at his players from the sidelines during the game. “Victory,” he repeated occasionally throughout. The phrase must have inspired his players. Simply put: Whiteford was a force to be reckoned with. On Friday the Bobcats faced Madison at Whiteford and didn’t let up from the get-go.
Whiteford kept their opponents at bay 13-0 in the first three-and-a-half minutes of the opening quarter. Bobcats Colin Lake and Corey Roberts hustled well and helped the team end the first quarter 20-5. Nearly half of Whiteford’s total points were scored in this quarter alone and the more than comfortable lead helped sustain the team for the duration of the game.
The final score was Whiteford 46-33.
