Blissfield Welcomes Three New Businesses to Town

Ribbon Cutting at Blissful Living at 4 p.m. Thursday

The Blissfield DDA/Main Street Board will be holding a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Thursday for Blissful Living in downtown Blissfield.  The ribbon cutting will take place at 122 S. Lane St.  This event will mark the public grand opening for Blissful Living, which features vintage antique resale and interior decorating.

Blissful Living is a combination of three former businesses—Patina, Vintage Barn Market, and Interiors by Laura Nichols—into one.  The idea to combine these three businesses into one is the brainchild of developer Kay Brown.

Brown’s idea was conceived after attending a Michigan Main Street presentation where she was informed that this had occurred in other communities.  From there, she decided to purchase the old Rose Auction building and the business was born.

So far, Brown has been thrilled with the response of the community.

“The Blissfield community has been great to both my husband and I. We’re happy about our investment, and we’re happy that it’s a great fit for all our partners,” Brown said.

The addition of Blissful Living to downtown excited Main Street Manager Michael Sessions.

“What a wonderful addition to our downtown! What we have here is a combination of resources under one roof—collaboration, so to speak. I applaud Kay, and her partners, for the foresight that they had in bringing three businesses under one roof. I call that vision,” Sessions said.
