The Blissfield Athletic Hall of Fame is proud to announce the 2010 Hall of Fame class. The Induction Dinner will take place at 6 p.m., Sept. 25 at Blissfield High School.
• Claude Sebring – From the class of 1937, Sebring was an absolute stud on the pitcher’s mound. He averaged double-digit strikeouts including 17 in his last game. He played professionally in the Tigers minor league system until he was drafted into the army during WWII.
• Tom Billington – From the class of 1964, Billington did it all. He was 1st team all-league and all-county in football for three years, honorable mention all-state in both football and basketball and a four-year starter in baseball.
• Beth Berry – From the class of 1999, Berry is considered one of the best softball players to ever play at Blissfield. She was all-league, all county and all-state in softball, Beth also excelled on the basketball court. She went on to play softball at Wayne State University
• Kyle Knoblauch – From the class of 2000, Knoblauch could do it all. He was twice named 1st team all-state in baseball. He was the winning pitcher in the 2000 state championship game, all-state in basketball, and state qualifier in golf. Knoblauch went to Bowling Green State University on a baseball scholarship.
• Gary Lombard – The Blissfield Township Fire Chief for 31 years, Lombard was responsible for the on field emergency care for all home football games and never missed a game during his 31 years..
• 1976 and 1977 State Championship Baseball Teams – During the span of 1976-77, this group was as good as they came. The 1973 team may have been credited with starting the baseball tradition but with a two-year record of 53-5, the 1976-77 teams put Blissfield baseball on the map.
