Alice J. Keinath, 80, of Deerfield, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Bixby Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Alice was born on June 1, 1931 to Chester and Otha (Mohr) Nichols. She attended high school in Lyons, Ohio and on June 4, 1971 she married James Keinath.
Alice worked for Fisher Body and Wolworths over the years. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, making sure everyone was loved and taken care of. Alice attended Immanuel Lutheran Church and participated in 4-H Lucky Clovers of Deerfield.
Alice is survived by her husband, Jim, of 40 years; her children, Michael Keinath of Deerfield, Julie (James) Pearce of Peachtree City, Georgia, and Lisa Waterhouse of Monroe; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Carl, George, Lester and Bob Nichols. She was preceded in death by her sisters Leona and Arlene, and her brother, Arthur.
Funeral services for Alice were held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Leking officiating. Burial followed at Deerfield Cemetery. Contributions in Alice’s memory may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deerfield Fire Department or the charity of the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
