After Tuesday’s loss at Clinton, the Blissfield varsity basketball team bounced back Friday night to defeat Erie-Mason 53-43.
The Royals and the Eagles were back and forth until the Eagles gained a six-point lead in the third quarter. However, in the final period the Royals put the pedal to the metal, scoring 17 points to the Eagles’ seven and sealing the Blissfield victory.
There were plenty of mistakes on each side during last Tuesday’s Blissfield boys varsity basketball game, but the undefeated Clinton Redskins ultimately had the Royals outsized and outmatched.
Blissfield continued to struggle with accuracy, shooting 50 percent from the field and sinking just two out of 14 attempted three-pointers.
The Royals managed to hold their own in the first half, but post-halftime the Redskins cruised past them to a 53-43 win.
