DELTA, Ohio — Lydia V. Miller Karl, 93, of Delta, formerly of Blissfield, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at Fulton County Health Center. She was born January 3, 1920, in Lenawee County, Michigan, to William and Rachel (Goodwin) Miller. On March 12, 1964, she married Martin Karl Sr., and he preceded her in death in 1984. Lydia was a former member of the Blissfield First United Methodist Church and was currently attending the New Horizon Community Church in Delta. While living in Blissfield, she was active with the Blissfield Senior Center and enjoyed being a member of the Silvertones Band. When she moved to Delta five years ago, she became active with the Archbold Senior Center. Lydia is survived by her daughter, Betty (Richard) Betterton of Delta, grandchildren, Rachel June of Texas and Shannon Patrick Betterton of Colorado; great granddaughter, Savannah; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Shelden, Leo Miller, and Harvey Miller Sr. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel in Blissfield with Pastor David Rison officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lydia may be made to her daughter to assist with funeral expenses.
