RIGA — Cecil Eldene Marsh was born the 1st of March, 1933, in Adrian, and was relieved of his fight with cancer the 11th of June, 2014 at Provincial House in the care of Hospice of Lenawee and surrounded by his family and the caring staff. He proudly served his country as Private First Class in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict where he earned the National Defense, Korean Service and the United Nations Service medals. Byron A. Cluckey, Jr., passed away on June 7, 2014, in Prescott, Arizona. Byron was born in Petersburg, Michigan, on May 8, 1930, to Byron A. Cluckey, Sr., and Marie (Barry) Cluckey. His family moved from Petersburg, Michigan in 1940. Byron graduated from W.K. Kellogg High School in Nashville, Michigan, and joined the U.S. Navy in 1949. Byron proudly served on the USS Sicily CVE 118 during the Korean War, earning the Korean Medal, UN Medal three Bronze Stars and the Navy Unit Citation. After discharge from the navy, Byron attended El Camino College in Torrence, California from 1953 to 1955 earning an Associate Degree in Engineering. She was born on February 1, 1935 in Adrian, Mich., and was the daughter of the late Sherman O. and Nellie E. (Stevens) Clough. Mrs. Adams had lived in Ballson Lake since 1971 and was formerly of Adrian. She taught in the Schenectady School District for many years. CLAYTON – Loretta F. Burch, age 92, of Clayton, died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Hospice of Lenawee, Hospice Home. She was born February 16, 1922 in William Co., OH to John and Clara (Thiel) Stark. She married Lawrence Burch on May 17, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1992. Loretta was a member of St. Mary’s on the Lake, the Irish Hills Region Antique Auto Car Club; the Antique Farmers Tractor Club of Adrian and the Heritage Farmer Tractor Club of Adrian. She was a music teacher in her home and in the Onsted Public Schools.

Henry J. “Hank” Wiesmann, age 79 of Adrian, MI died peacefully at home surrounded by his family May 26, 2014. He was born Dec. 1, 1934 on the family farm in Clayton, MI, to Anton & Rose (Mueller) Wiesmann.
He graduated in 1952 from St. Mary’s High School in Adrian and attended Michigan State University. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1958 and was honorably discharged from the Army Chemical Center in Edgewood, MD. On Sept. 17, 1960, he married Joyce Calhoun, and they enjoyed a marriage of 53 years.
Hank joined The Raisin Presbyterian Church of Holloway, Britton, MI in 1972 where he served as a Ruling Elder and Sunday School Teacher for many years. Peter Poluka, age 93 of Blissfield, passed away at his home Saturday, May 3, 2014. He was born June 22, 1920, in Bell Valley, Ohio, to Steven and Theresa Poluka. While working in a defense plant in New Jersey, Peter met Margaret Michalko whom he married on November 23, 1944 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and she survives. Peter retired in 1982 from Johnson Controls where he had worked as an engineer for many years. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and pitching for softball teams. Peter was a member of Light of Christ Catholic Parish in Blissfield. DEERFIELD — Keith T. Diver, age 65, of Deerfield passed away April 22, 2014. He was born March 7, 1949 in Tecumseh, the son of Beaumont and Lillian (LaVoy) Diver. He married Joan R. Klippel on June 12, 1970, in Richfield Center, Ohio, and she survives. Keith proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 -1972. He owned and operated Meyers – Diver’s Airport in Tecumseh for over 40 years. Keith graduated from Deerfield High School and had worked in skilled trades as a Machine Repairman at Ford Motor Company in Saline for 30 years, retiring in 1997. BRITTON — Paul Peter Laslo, age 97 of Britton, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 15, 1917, in Canada, to Joseph and Anna Laslo. Paul served in the US Army and was a WWII veteran. On November 26, 1949, he married Carolyn Martin and she preceded him in death in 1987. On October 10, 1987, he married Mary Pieplow in Adrian. Arthur was united in marriage in 1956 to Rose Marie Loar, in Angola, Indiana. He was a self employed farmer retiring in 1997.
