The street became a palette in downtown Blissfield during Saturday’s Art at Your Feet event, sponsored by the Blissfield Downtown District Authority/Main Street Program. Artists young and old, amateur and professional used chalk and temporary paint to turn Lane Street into a giant asphalt canvas for their creations. More than 60 artists, or 44 teams, registered to participate — a record, according to Main Street manager Michael Sessions.
The largest artwork of all was a giant mural dedicated to Kelly Heidbreder, a Riga native who is now an anchor on NBC 24.
Heidbreder herself came to Art at Your Feet to serve as a guest judge and announcer.
