It’s official: Britton and Deerfield Schools are one

It’s official. Britton Deerfield Schools became a consolidated district at the combined board of education meetings at the high school July 7.

Britton Deerfield Superintendent Charles Pelham said both the Britton-Macon School Board and the Deerfield School board first had to approve motions to give titles, deeds and assets to the new Britton Deerfield School districts. “And then the new board had to accept everything”
At the organizational meeting of the Britton Deerfield School board which has been governing both school districts over the last year as the consolidation process took place officers were elected.  Elizabeth Roe will continue as president, Greg Cannon is vice president, Todd Ost was elected secretary and Kevin Barrett is treasurer.  The remaining trustees are Ben Allshouse, Lucy Pirolli and Doug Armstrong.
