BLISSFIELD, WHITEFORD, BRITTON DEERFIELD — Grass Lake Warrior Invitational
They don’t call it “the Warrior” for nothing.
Some fierce competition was on the docket for the boys and girls track teams of Blissfield, Britton Deerfield, and Whiteford High Schools. All three schools competed in the Grass Lake Warrior Invitational on Saturday, April 16.
The Blissfield girls track team scored 5.50 points overall at the event.
The BD boys took 11th out of 14 teams overall, and the girls took 13th out of 15 teams.
The Whiteford girls team also fared well that day.
“We were a little short handed but still managed to score 20 points and place 10th of 15 teams,” Whiteford girls track coach Jim Hojnacki said.
The Whiteford boys team ended up scoring no points for the meet. However, there were some positive results.
Kevin Daniels ran a 5:16 in the 1600 meter. Nathan Mills ran a 60 second in the 400 meter. And Josh Myers ran a 12.0 in the 100 meter.
Results for the Blissfield boys team were not made available to The Advance at press time.
WHITEFORD — The Whiteford girls track team were in Hudson on Tuesday, April 12 for a meet and racked-up their first win of the season. The final scores were Whiteford with 80, Summerfield with 61, and Hudson with 33.
