BLISSFIELD — The Blissfield varsity baseball team pulled off an epic comeback against Ann Arbor Pioneer last Tuesday, April 12 at home. Down 9-0 at the bottom of the sixth, the Royals shocked spectators - and perhaps even themselves - by scoring 10 points in two innings for a 10-9 victory over the defending Division I state champs. Josh Knorr was 4-5 for the day. He scored two runs and had two RBIs.

Ottawa Hills rolled Blissfield Wednesday evening, 10-2.
“We did not play with any passion for the game,” said Tuttle. “No excitement.”
Five errors contributed to the Royal defeat.
“We need more concentration to be successful,” said Tuttle.

BRITTON DEERFIELD — Britton-Deerfield baseball tallied a 17-2 win over Whitmore Lake Friday. Zach Bearinger was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts and allowing only one hit.

WHITEFORD — Whiteford started off the week by beating Clinton 14-5 on Monday, April 11. Sean O’Leary was the winning pitcher of the game that afternoon with 11 strikeouts.

Another victory was tallied Wednesday, April 13 when the Bobcats crushed Whitmore Lake 14-0. Oddly, that same afternoon, Whiteford’s softball counterparts also kept Whitmore Lake at zero points, defeating them 11-0. Gabe Laroy was the winning pitcher with nine strikeouts.

Unfortunately, Whiteford’s win streak was interrupted on Friday with a 7-3 loss to Summerfield. Playing in some of the worst wind conditions seen thus far this season, Whiteford was neck-and-neck with the Bulldogs in the beginning, but allowed Summerfield a four-run series of scores in the fifth.

However, Whiteford didn’t let the loss stick to them or bog them down. On Saturday the Bobcats faced off against the state-ranked Homer and annihilated them 11-0.
