The Blissfield varsity baseball team went 2-1 in the Jeff Jackson Farm Bureau Invitational Saturday morning at Blissfield High School. After rolling the Fenton Tigers and the Taylor Kennedy Eagles, the Royals lost 0-2 to the tough and talented Division I Bedford Mules.

In the final round Blissfield faced the Division I Bedford Mules. Bedford boasts some outstanding players. 6-foot-six-inch sophomore Jackson Lamb is a pitching phenom. Outfielder Trent Szkutnik, shortstop Dan Przeniczny and catcher Jared Kujawa will soon be playing for Division I universities. With a great pitcher on each team, it was bound to be a fast-paced, low-score game. But Bedford managed to get in a couple plays for a 2-0 victory.
