Recall effort against Simon moves ahead

Petition against Riga treasurer Beagle denied

At present only one of two people currently targeted by a local group against the development of wind turbines in the Riga Township will face a possible recall.

Wording for petitions to recall Riga Township Supervisor Jefferee Simon and Treasurer Richard Beagle were filed earlier this month in the Lenawee County Clerk’s office and were subject to a mandatory clarity hearing on March 24. The wording for the petition against Simon was approved unanimously by the three-member county election board while they voted 2-1 to deny the petition against Beagle.
This was the second time in this year that a petition was brought to the court in an attempt to recall Simon. The petition was denied in the first attempt.
The citizen group is attempting to bring a recall against the officials because they believe the pair have a conflict of interest when it comes to the possibility of wind turbines being constructed within the township.

Typical Liberals, they're not getting their way so they have to try to get rid of the people they don't like.

Riga Recall

Here we go more costly unneeded battles at Riga resident's expense. We don't need more distraction in the middle of this Wind Farm debate. Wait till their terms are up then put it to a vote. I for one am against any legal bills or special election costs that will raise my taxes. Money's tight! I'm not willing to squander it on some personal grudge that has nothing to do with the business at hand.
