Flooding impacts neighborhoods beyond river

Help available for displaced residents

BLISSFIELD - Several neighborhoods in the village of Blissfield are expected to be impacted by the flooding.
Blissfield Village Administrator Jim Wonacott said he expects to see flooding along Franklin, Maple and River streets as well as South Monroe Street, Kingsbury and Joy Street. Some of these areas are already have standing water. South Main Street will also probably experience some flooding as well as Grant Street in Fairhaven Acres and the northern section of Haas Park will also experience flooding throughout the next few days. Residents of Coach Light Estates have also reported standing water in the streets.
Lenawee County Emergency Services Director Curtis Parsons said his office can help families who may be displaced due to flooding. The LCEMS has the Red Cross on stand by at this time. The LCES number is 517-264-4759.
Wonacott said if people need help or have a water emergency they can also call tthe Lenaee Couny 911 dispatch center for help.
The dispatch center recomends using the sheriff’s department business line of 263-0524 to obtain help or information unless a true emergency exists and then residents should call 911.
