Teams sets sights on regionals again
The Blissfield competitive cheer team is eager to show its school pride and athletic prowess with an all-new set of routines this year. Although the cheer season got off to a late start due to extra time spent developing routines, head coach Amber Spotts has high hopes for her girls.
All but two cheerleaders also participated in sideline cheer during football season, which Spotts says gives the team an edge.
“A lot of the stunts we do on the football field we also do in our competitive rounds,” said Spotts. “And it definitely helps with the conditioning and jumps.”
The team will rely on its traditionally strong stunt techniques to lend its finales some flair.
