Beurer named to key post in state DHS

LANSING — Michigan Department of Human Services director Maura Corrigan has appointed  Deerfield resident Terrence Beurer as director of field operations. He’s served as acting director for field operations during the past six months.

Beurer has been an employee of the department since 1978, when he began working at the Adrian Training School. He then went on to Lenawee County DHS as a Child Protective Services worker, and later supervised CPS and foster care.  Beurer was promoted to the Monroe County director position in 2004.  He has also served as director of urban child welfare field operations and Children’s Services Administration’s deputy director.
