Bobcat girls 'young, but quick'
“We are young but quick,” Whiteford girls varsity coach Jay Haselschwerdt said about his team this year. With only two seniors on the squad of 11 that also has one sophomore and a freshman on the roster, there is a lot of room to grow this year. But he is also expecting some solid leadership from his seniors this year as well.
Both Mariah DuPree and Megan Ortmann averaged about 10 points a game last year, he said.
“We can score.”
Putting up a solid defense together with some strong rebounding will be a key to the success of the team, Haselschwerdt said.
