Schmidt wins three baseball scholarships

Former Blissfield High School baseball star Eric Schmidt has been awarded three baseball scholarships. The 2011 BHS graduate and three-time All-State pitcher received the George Filby Scholarship, the American Legion Baseball Scholarship and the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association’s Gary Vitto Scholarship for a total of $4,000. Schmidt is the first baseball player in Blissfield history to receive the American Legion and Gary Vitto scholarships. He is the second to receive the George Filby Scholarship, following Chris Hudson.
